Snubblzについて

Snubblz is a one-person company, started in early 2026 by Sven Wijnholds, then 21 years old and in his first year studying Entrepreneurship at Avans Hogeschool in ’s-Hertogenbosch.

The idea began with a problem I had myself: I would put my phone on the nightstand at 22:00 swearing I’d sleep, and find myself still scrolling at 02:00. Not because I wanted to - because the apps were engineered by some of the smartest people on the planet to keep me there.

Existing tools fight phone addiction with punishment: blockers, screen time limits, guilt-tripping notifications. They live on the same device that’s causing the problem. They lose.

Snubblz is the opposite: a separate physical object that rewards you for putting your phone down. When the phone is on the dock, a small companion on the OLED screen grows. Take the phone, the companion stops. No restrictions, no blockers - just a gentle reason to keep going. The Tamagotchi effect, redesigned for your mental health.

作っているもの

• The Dock - custom-designed PCB built around an ESP32-S3, with a 256×64 OLED, 15W Qi wireless charging, and current sensing to detect when your phone is actually there.
• The Companion - right now “The Sloth” (warm, sleepy, loyal). More designs in the pipeline.
• The App - Flutter iOS/Android, tracks your time together, shows statistics. The dock works standalone too.

私の働き方

Solo founder. KVK-registered eenmanszaak from my address in the Netherlands. I do hardware in KiCad, firmware in C++ for Arduino, the app in Flutter, and the website in plain HTML. I post the messy parts on TikTok @snubblz - PCB foutjes included.

やらないこと

• No subscription. Ever. You pay €79 once, you own it forever. Gen Z is paying €118/month in subscriptions on average. Snubblz isn’t adding to that pile.
• No data harvesting. The dock doesn’t need to know who you are. Statistics stay on your device.
• No screen time guilt-tripping. If you pick up your phone, you pick it up. The companion just stops growing. That’s the whole consequence.
