Terms & Conditions
The terms governing your pre-order, the 30-day guarantee, and how we handle disputes.
To protect consumers and comply with legal obligations regarding distance selling, Snubblz applies the following Terms and Conditions to its direct-to-consumer webshop.
Article 1 - Definitions
- Cooling-off period: the period within which the consumer can make use of their right of withdrawal.
- Consumer: the natural person who does not act for purposes related to their trade, business, craft, or profession.
- Right of withdrawal: the option for the consumer to withdraw from the distance contract within the cooling-off period.
- Entrepreneur: the natural or legal person (Snubblz) offering products to consumers at a distance.
Article 2 - Identity of the entrepreneur
Name: Snubblz
Address: Voorstraat 11, 5251CP, Vlijmen, Netherlands
Email: info@snubblz.com
Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 42034934
VAT (BTW): NL005445212B87
Article 3 - Applicability
- These general terms and conditions apply to every offer from Snubblz and to every distance contract established between the entrepreneur and the consumer. Our Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and applies to all transactions and waitlist sign-ups.
Article 4 - The offer
- If an offer has a limited period of validity or is made subject to conditions (such as pre-orders or small production batches), this will be explicitly stated in the offer.
- The offer contains a complete and accurate description of the offered Snubblz dock, sufficiently detailed to enable a proper assessment by the consumer.
Article 5 - The contract
- The contract is concluded at the moment of acceptance by the consumer of the offer and the fulfilment of the corresponding conditions.
Article 6 - Right of withdrawal and return costs
- The consumer can dissolve a contract regarding the purchase of a Snubblz dock during a cooling-off period of 14 days without giving any reason.
- Costs in case of withdrawal: if the consumer exercises their right of withdrawal, the costs of returning the goods will be borne entirely by the consumer. This is clearly communicated on the website prior to concluding the contract.
Article 7 - Obligations of the consumer during the cooling-off period
- During the cooling-off period, the consumer will handle the product with care. They will only unpack or use the product to the extent necessary to establish the nature and functioning of the electronics (as they would in a physical store). The consumer is liable for depreciation of the product if handled beyond this scope.
Article 8 - The price
- The price stated on the webshop for the Snubblz dock (€79.00) includes VAT and is a one-time purchase amount without hidden subscription fees.
Article 9 - Delivery, transfer of risk, and pre-orders
- Snubblz will execute accepted orders with due speed but no later than within 30 days, unless a different delivery period has been agreed upon (for example, in the case of pre-orders for new production batches).
- Transfer of risk: the risk of damage and/or loss rests with Snubblz until the moment of delivery to the consumer.
Article 10 - Payment
- Under consumer conditions, Snubblz never requires 100% advance payment. During the ordering process, the consumer is always offered the option to pay at least 50% of the purchase amount afterwards via certified payment partners.
Article 11 - Product liability, safety, and improper use
- Snubblz guarantees that the products meet European safety requirements.
- The product contains hardware (15W Qi charger and ESP32 chip) that can generate heat. Snubblz is not liable for damage to property or injury if this damage is caused by incompetent or improper use.
- Improper use includes, in any case: connecting to faulty or non-CE certified wall adapters, breaking open the casing, blocking ventilation openings, or exposing the product to moisture.
Article 12 - Complaints procedure
- Complaints about the execution of the contract must be submitted fully and clearly described to Snubblz within a reasonable time, and will be answered within 14 days.
Product requirements and European certification (CE & RED)
Because Snubblz is not just software, but also brings physical electronics to the market, as manufacturer I bear the legal responsibility for product safety within the European Economic Area (EEA). My earlier hardware experiments and expert interviews showed that heat management (due to the 15W Qi charger) and wireless signals carry risks. To limit legal liability and to be allowed to sell legally, Snubblz must comply with the mandatory CE marking. Specifically for this type of hardware, the following two European directives apply:
- Radio Equipment Directive (RED - 2014/53/EU): because the ESP32 chip in the Snubblz dock uses wireless communication (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) to connect to the smartphone, the device falls under the RED directive. This directive imposes strict requirements on radio equipment to ensure efficient use of the radio spectrum (without causing interference) and that electromagnetic radiation is safe for human health.
- RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU): this directive restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment to protect public health and the environment. For the assembly of internal PCBs and components of Snubblz, this specifically means that I, or my production partner, may only use lead-free solder and RoHS-certified components.
By requiring suppliers (such as the manufacturers of the OLED screen and the ESP32 module) to deliver components individually certified in advance, I lower the cost and complexity of providing the final, assembled end product with a valid EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC).
